Gurgaon Schools’ Conclave

A Gurgaon Schools “Conclave was organised by Gurgaon First at Auditorium of Artemis Hospital on December 22, 2015. More than 90 delegates including principals, management and administration of prominent schools of Gurgaon participated in the Conclave.

Gurgaon is fortunate to have many “good quality” schools, be it in the private, government or the NGO domain. Gurgaon schools have demonstrated that they can contribute in a very enriching way to the city’s growth by supporting well-meaning initiatives and causes.

The objective of the conclave was to bring forth common operational issues, discuss new initiatives and address some innovative solutions for the schools.  Col Pratap from CCA School said that there was a “trust deficit” between schools and administration and that the EWS quota of 25 per cent and the fee issue are two big issues that the schools are seeking clarity from the administration. The highlight of the workshop was a Principals Hub, where Principals of main schools talked about their challenges and best practices. Principals of private schools discussed that the parental interference is a significant challenge facing private stchools.

The Conclave had participation from over 35 schools today. There were principals from atleast 12 prominent schools of Gurgaon including Heritage, Gems International, Shiv Nadar, Amity International, Ridge Valley, HDFC School, Shalom Hills, Paras World school,  and the American School.  From the NGO domain we have Disha, Happy and Nayi Disha Schools. And a few government schools are also present thanks to the department of education.

The objective of  the Conclave was to inspire the school community of Gurgaon to work with renewed vigour, better coordination and will feel enthused with new ideas and better vision.

The Conclave was sponsored by companies including Bergen, Wellspun, Mind On, Smart 24×7 and Asun.
