Sector: Physically and mentally challenged children

Khushboo Welfare Society (KWS) provides comprehensive care and a range of services to individuals with mental and multiple disabilities. The society is committed to empowering the physically and mentally challenged by helping them become self-reliant, realise their full potential, and maximise their capabilities. KWS supports children, adolescents, and adults through flexible education, vocational training, therapeutic programs, and specialized interventions designed to help them achieve self-sufficiency. Additionally, they offer long-term care for continued support. The Society is led by an Executive Committee that includes the President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and several other members. The society also collaborates with various corporate partners to further its mission.

Our Programs:

  • Sparsh: This program provides diagnostic and prescriptive services for children up to the age of 3 through a multidisciplinary team of KWS staff and specialists from reputed hospitals such as Fortis, Max, and Medanta. Services include physiotherapy and speech therapy, helping children achieve developmental milestones.
  • Pre-School Program: Tailored for children aged 3 to 6, this program offers holistic early intervention aimed at fostering early development in children with disabilities. Group activities are organized with parents to encourage positive developmental progress.
  • Blessing Special School: Designed for children aged 6 to 18 who have been assessed as “educable,” this school offers individualised educational programs based on each child’s learning potential and progress, helping them to shape their educational journey.
  • Samvedan: A program for “trainable” children aged 6 to 18, with a focus on teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADL) to enhance their ability to manage day-to-day tasks independently.
  • Samarth Vocational Training: A vocational training program for adolescents and young adults over 18 years of age. This program equips them with skills in household and kitchen activities, enabling them to become more self-sufficient and contribute to their families and society.
  • Asha Kiran (Community-Based Rehabilitation Program): This outreach program is designed for children with multiple disabilities in underserved communities that lack direct access to Khushboo’s services.

Success Stories:

  • Khushboo Welfare Society has made a significant impact in the lives of many children. Some children with cerebral palsy, unable to walk before joining KWS, have shown remarkable improvement after participating in the society’s programs.
  • KWS students have participated in state and national-level sports tournaments, excelling in events such as the 400-meter race, basketball, and weightlifting. Some of these students have even represented India in international competitions, including the World Games.
