Building Frameworks for Sustainable Education In India

The District Education Officer, Smt. Neelam Bhandari graced the occasion with her presence. The workshop had many
prominent speakers including Mr. Shrikant Sinha, CEO, Nasscom Foundation; Mr. Sharad Aggarwal, Co-founder, Indian
School of Development Management; Mr. Amitav Virmani, Consultant, The Education Alliance; Mr. Roderick Harding,
Member of the Board – Clifton Harding Global Training Institute; Mr. Ratnesh Mathur, Founder, Prarang; Mr. Sharad Pradhan,
Deputy General Manager, CSR and Government Relations, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt.Ltd., Mr. Pradeep Tibrewal,
Member, IKAN; Mrs. Vinita Singh, Trustee, We, The People and Mr. Prerit Rana, Co-Founder, Shikshanjali EduTech Consulting
and Ms. Mridu Gupta, Co-Founder, Shikshanjali EduTech Consulting.
The workshop identified the concerns and challenges in the field of education, and shed light on some of the counteractive steps.
Forging of meaningful engagements and collaborations for improving the quality of education was also discussed. “We are working
to a collaborative education framework based on the inputs received from various stakeholders during the workshop. This will be
presented to the government at district and state level to be supported in execution by Shikshanjali and partners”, says Mridu
Gupta of Shikshanjali EduTech Consulting.
Shikshajali EduTech Consulting is a social impact company, founded with a aim to transform government school education across
the country, such that quality education is accessible to students from socially and economically backward communities in
alignment with the UN’s sustainable development goals (goal #4 and goal #17).
Gurgaon First is an initiative for positive change through workshops and research reports. The initiative aims to highlight
issues, suggest solutions and showcase progress in the areas of sustainable development, good governance and women safety.
The event showcased the works of six Gurugram women who have made a difference in the social sector. These women were Ms Shanti
Hiranand (Hindustani Classical singer), Ms Kamal Capoor ( educationalist), Dr Kalpana Vishwanath(co-founder, safetipin), Ms Monica
Khanna Gulati ( co-founder NCR Waste Matters), Art Jaiman (Station Director-Gurgaon Ki Awaaz) Ms Ruchi Rai ( Rotarian and social worker).
Each of the six speakers shared their inspirational stories with the audience. The talks focussed on their journey, work and challenges
they faced in their diverse fields of excellence. The event also showcased the creative talents of Ms Sujatha Kumar and Ms JyotikaVij
who have kept their passions of singing and poetry alive while pursuing their professional careers. About 200 delegates from all
walks of life attended the do.
