Function: Law and Order
The Gurgaon Police is the law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining public safety and order in the city of Gurgaon. It functions under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, an officer from the Indian Police Service (IPS). The police jurisdiction is divided into four districts—East, West, South, and Manesar—each headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). In addition to general policing, Gurgaon Police operates several specialized units, including:
- Crime Branch
- Economic Offences Wing
- Traffic Police
- Cyber Police
There are also four dedicated women police stations across the district to address gender-related concerns.
To improve accessibility and public interaction, Gurgaon Police has launched the Gurgaon Police App, which enables citizens to report crimes, file complaints, and track the status of their cases. Another notable initiative is “Police Mitra”, through which officers are assigned to specific areas to interact with local communities and address their issues proactively.
