Function: Prevention and Control of Pollution
The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) is a statutory body established to oversee the prevention, control, and abatement of pollution across the state. It plays a key regulatory role by enforcing environmental laws and standards relating to air, water, hazardous waste, bio-medical waste, and solid waste management. HSPCB is responsible for issuing pollution control certificates to residential and commercial projects and regulating polluting industries through its online consent management and monitoring system. The Board is also actively involved in promoting cleaner technologies, including supporting the implementation of BS-VI vehicle emission norms and the adoption of electric vehicles. Through these initiatives, HSPCB aims to safeguard environmental quality and ensure sustainable development across Haryana.
