Our journey began in 2012 — a pivotal year that marked Gurgaon’s first municipal council elections. The city was at a crossroads, transforming rapidly and revealing both possibilities and pressing challenges. It was in this moment of change that Gurgaon First found its purpose — to be a bridge between citizens, institutions, and governance. What began as a series of workshops, roundtables, and conclaves to encourage dialogue soon evolved into a broader mission: to catalyze civic engagement and collective action. We believe that better information leads to better participation>. When residents are informed and empowered, they become active contributors to their city’s development. And when communities, administrations, and forward-thinking voices come together, solutions become more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable. Our platform exists to continue nurturing this spirit — to spotlight critical urban issues and to enable collaboration across stakeholder groups. This city is home to an incredibly diverse and talented population — including many who have moved here from across the country and the world.
