Function: Urban Development

The Directorate of Urban Local Bodies (ULB Haryana) is the apex department responsible for the policy planning, regulation, and coordination of urban local governance across the state. It oversees the functioning of all municipal corporations, municipal councils, and municipal committees in Haryana. The department plays a central role in guiding urban growth through initiatives such as the Haryana Urban Development Programme (HUDP) and by actively participating in the Smart Cities Mission. It has also been instrumental in improving sanitation and hygiene standards in urban areas through programs like the Swachh Bharat Mission.
