One of GurgaonFirst’s most impactful early workshops. Citizens, MCG officials, waste management experts, and RWA representatives came together to examine source segregation, composting, informal waste workers, and the Bandhwari landfill challenge. This workshop was a foundational step towards GurgaonFirst’s eventual Waste Management Handbook under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Workshop #8 · October 2013

GurgaonFirst organised a landmark workshop on women's safety in Gurugram, attended by over 200 citizens, NGO representatives, and RWA leaders. Chief Guest: Dr Kiran Bedi, former IPS officer and Lt Governor of Puducherry.Key outcomes: citizen-led safety audit of Sector 29 public spaces; commitment from 12 RWAs to appoint Women Safety Coordinators; launch of GurgaonFirst Women's Safety Helpline awareness campaign.

With Gurgaon already classified as a CGWA “dark zone” for groundwater over-extraction, this workshop convened water experts, GMDA officials, RWA leaders, and resident groups to examine solutions: rainwater harvesting, STP management, water-efficient appliances, and demanding better water governance. The first of GurgaonFirst’s landmark Annual RWA Conclaves, bringing together RWA leaders from across Gurgaon for a full day of dialogue on civic issues, best practices, and collective advocacy. Topics included water, waste, security, parks, and engagement with MCG and GMDA. This became the template for a series of annual RWA conclaves through 2017 and beyond.
