Sustainability Workshop at DPS International School, Sector-50
Gurgaon First Foundation (GFF) conducted an interactive sustainability workshop at DPS International School, Sector 50, Gurugram, on July 23, 2026, engaging nearly 300 students from Grades VI, VII, VIII, IX and XII.
The workshop was led by Shubhra Puri, Founder, Gurgaon First Foundation, along with sustainability trainers Sangeeta Nayyar, Waste Warrior and Trustee, Aravalli Bachao Citizen Movement, and Aayush Dasgupta ( intern at Gurgaon First).
Designed to inspire young minds to become environmentally responsible citizens, the session provided students with a comprehensive understanding of today’s most pressing sustainability challenges. Through an engaging multimedia presentation, students explored issues such as water conservation, waste management, climate change, air pollution, renewable energy and sustainable mobility. Interactive videos, quizzes, and discussions encouraged active participation and helped students connect these global challenges with their everyday lives.
The workshop concluded with a moving music video celebrating the Aravalli hills, which resonated deeply with both students and teachers. Students pledged to remain actively involved in sustainability initiatives and environmental projects, recognising the importance of translating awareness into action. They also gained insights into emerging careers in sustainability and learnt how simple, everyday choices can collectively contribute to building a greener and more sustainable future. Giving her concluding remarks, Seema Kaushal, Principal of the secondary school reiterated the school’s commitment to sustainability causes through practical projects.
The workshop forms part of Gurgaon First Foundation’s ongoing sustainability awareness initiative, supported by Nagarro, under which a series of workshops is being conducted across schools in Gurugram between July and December 2026. The programme seeks to nurture environmentally responsible behaviour among young citizens, encourage community participation, and inspire students to become sustainability ambassadors within their schools and neighbourhoods.
